I recently visited the Baroque exhibition at the V&A and loved the baroque theatre with its moving scenery . This has of course inspired a set of buttons which are three dimensional. The first one is of the sun behind the clouds. The sun is heavily embroidered in a baroque style onto the silk but the clouds are made in needlelace and are suspended in front on little springs.

How glorious! I love it. The clouds are wonderfully evocative. Maybe the Sun King needs a companion button, with a little deus ex machina descending to sort out everyone's problems. Who couldn't use one of those? Cheers! Jana (in sunny California)
